Renault Launches Updated 2021 Triber – Grows Over 25% YoY!

Renault India has been on a bit of a roll lately with the launch of the Kiger. The Kiger is a compact SUV with prices as expensive as some of the premium hatchbacks in the country. With such aggressive pricing, the carmaker has attracted a ton of customers and the waiting periods for the Kiger have started going upwards of 2 months already. The French auto giant is focusing on India a lot and realizes the potential of getting a massive chunk of our market with value-for-money products. Another product on that list is the 7-seater compact MPV, the Triber. Ever since its launch in 2019, it has been an exceedingly popular choice for customers from semi-urban and rural regions of the country. The reasons for this success are pretty simple, value for money, practically and equipment.

Renault Triber

The Triber comes packed with all the necessary modern convenience and safety equipment, along with the latest connectivity features. The third-row of seating extends certain practicality to the cabin or people can even carry tons of luggage with the rear seats folded. All this practicality at an even more affordable price than some regular hatchbacks. It is a no-brainer for someone looking for the budget MPV, which can do a little bit of everything. But now, the Triber has been launched for 2021 with not too many changes. Let us see what is new in the 2021 Renault Triber.

2021 Renault Triber – Updates

While the changes and updates on the 2021 Triber are not extensive, there are a fair few tweaks to keep the product fresh. This includes the addition of new LED turn indicators which is becoming a trend now and multi-purpose steering wheels with controls on the RXT variant. The top-trim, the RXZ gets the convenience of a height-adjustable driver’s seat and a dual paint theme option. This will make the top-trim distinctive even from the outside and will give the Triber a sporty feel. In addition to that, the RXT also gets Mystery Black roof and ORVMs. There is another colour option to choose from for the customers, Cedar Brown.

2021 Renault Triber – Engine and Prices

The Renault Triber still comes with the same tried and tested 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol unit making 72 PS and 96 Nm. This engine comes mated to either a 5-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. There are also speculations of a more powerful turbo petrol engine making its way into the Triber but seems a bit far away from now. Renault might bring that engine to the Triber in 2022. The prices of the 2021 Renault Triber range between Rs 5.30 lakh to Rs 7.82 lakh, ex-showroom.

Renault Car Sales Report

Renault is slowly making its way up the ladder of being India’s big car manufacturer and sits currently at the 7th sport just below Toyota with a 3.6% market share. In February 2020, Renault sold over 8,750 units in India and this number has risen to over 11,000 units in February 2021, marking a 25% growth in sales. This growth has been largely due to the popular value for money products from French manufacturers like the Kwid, Triber and Kiger. All of these have almost contributed equally and this is a positive sign for the brand that they are not relying on just any one product. The sales will get increased further with Kiger gaining more popularity going forward.
