Kwid, Triber & Kiger Contribute To The 12% MoM Growth In Sales Of Renault For March 2021!

Renault is slowly emerging as the volume player in the Indian automobile industry. The reasons for this are the affordability and practicality aspects of its products. One of the most successful products from Renault include the Kwid and the Triber. Both of these cars punch way above their weight by being unique products in their respective segments. Kwid is sort of the only micro-SUV-ish product in the segment that can truly carry that tag. Triber is one of the most affordable MPVs in the country. This is a perfect blend of affordability and practicality. Then there is the recently launched, the most affordable compact SUV in the country, the Kiger. All these three products have been driving sales for Renault as a result of which Renault sits at a comfortable around 4% market share in our market. Let us look in detail, the sales report of these individual products from Renault.

Renault Kiger

Let us start with the newest Renaults in India. The compact SUV has garnered a ton of attention from the customers, mainly due to its astoundingly inexpensive price tag. As a matter of fact, it undercuts almost all the premium hatchbacks as well, which might persuade the customers towards Kiger from across the segments. Renault announced that it was the strategy to make people think of buying the compact SUV, even when they set out to buy a premium hatchback. That has worked quite well for Renault as it sold over 3,800 units of the Kiger in March, compared to over 3,200 units in February. This marks an impressive 19% growth in sales on an MoM basis. The Renault Kiger costs between Rs 5.45 lakh and Rs 9.72 lakh, ex-showroom.

Renault Triber

One of the most successful budget MPVs in the country, the Renault Triber has also been quite a success for the French automaker since its launch a couple of years ago. It is an all-rounder product with plenty of options in engine-transmission options, seating arrangement and all the modern amenities. In March this year, Renault sold over 4,100 units of the Triber in comparison to just over 3,500 units in the month before. This marks an almost 16% MoM growth in sales which is very decent. The Triber costs Rs 5.30 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 7.82 lakh, ex-showroom.

Renault Kwid

Renault Kwid is the entry-level offering from Renault and started a unique trend of micro-SUVs in the country. It has muscular and sporty looks with a tall stance to give it an SUV-ish appearance. That is the reason it has been so well received by the customers for such a long time. In March 2021, Renault over 4,100 units of the Kwid, whereas it sold a little over 3,900 units the month before. This also marks a 5% growth on an MoM basis. The Kwid ranges between Rs 3.12 lakh and Rs 5.31 lakh, ex-showroom.

Renault has been focussing on volume-intensive products in our country and it has been quite successful because of that. It will be interesting to see if Renault could be able to sustain this growth with these three products primarily or we might see something new from the French carmakers even though there is no news of that as such.
