Skoda Has Released The Interior Design Sketches Of The New Fabia – India Launch On Cards?

Skoda has been in the news for all the right recently. It has initiated the India 2.0 strategy for the Indian market aiming to grab a larger chunk of market share than what it currently has. This means that the brand is focusing on localization and reducing service, maintenance and repair costs. That has been the point of contention for the Czech carmaker for a long time now and finally, Skoda has remedied it. With plenty of new launches planned for 2021 in India, there is some exciting news coming in from the international market too. The Fabia hatchback is about to be launched and the design sketches of the interiors of the same have been released by Skoda. Now, Fabia was an important product for our market as well and with the Indianized MQB A0 IN platform, there might be a case of bringing it to our market as well. Let us see what the design sketches tell us about the new Fabia in detail.

The interiors of the new Skoda Fabia are very much in line with the latest design elements from the Czech carmaker which we have also seen in the India-bound Kushaq SUV. The official video shared by Skoda indicates a modern-looking cabin with the Digital Cockpit-style Instrument Cluster, a large Digital Touchscreen Infotainment System which will likely come with all the modern necessary connectivity features including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth Connectivity, Connected Car Tech, Voice Commands, Typical Two-Spoke Multi-Function Steering Wheel, Round AirCon Vents, Funky Inserts on the Dashboard which is extended to various places throughout the cabin, high-quality interiors and much more. Needless to say, the safety equipment list on the Fabia will also be extensive.

Skoda Fabia – Exterior Design Sketches

The exterior sketches were revealed by Skoda just a couple of days ago and the overall theme continues to be modern and bold. According to the design ketches, the overall appearance of the Fabia is very much in line with the latest design language of the brand. It also signifies the heritage of the brand with typical sharp creases all around to give it a sporty look. The front end of the Fabia features a sharp and sleep LED headlamp unit with crystalline effect as is the case with all the latest Skodas, the typical butterfly grille giving it a broad stance, sporty new bumpers, as well as fog lamps. The bonnet is sharp and has creases to give it a sturdy look. The sides are accentuated by the bold alloy wheels and sharp creases along with the body panels as well. There is a sign of a chrome belt on the lower end of the windows. The glimpse of the rear indicates the presence of the LED crystalline Taillamp unit which is also very sleek and modern. Overall, the dimensions of the Fabia are well sculpted and modern and represent the brand’s design language adequately.

Skoda Fabia – Expected Engines And India Launch

The Skoda Fabia might be launched in India as well, however, there has been no news from the Czech carmaker who is primarily focusing on the Kushaq and Rapid replacement at the moment. If it does make its way to our shores, we can be sure that it will feature the 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine making 110 hp and 175 Nm of peak output. There might be the option of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. If it arrives here, it will go up against the likes of Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, Honda Jazz and VW Polo. The price range might be somewhere between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 11 lakh, ex-showroom.
