Isuzu has recently launched the BS6 compliant versions of its pick-up range which includes the V-Cross and mu-X. While the V-Cross is an off-roading focussed utility vehicle with a lifestyle pick up the truck-type body, the mu-X is a more conventional ladder frame 7-seater SUV with similar off-roading capabilities. However, the one key difference is that it is catered to someone looking for a family SUV with practicality, comfort and features, along with hardcore off-roading capabilities. This makes it a direct rival to something like a Ford Endeavour which has been one of the most popular products in this segment for quite a long time now. The Isuzu mu-X, being the latest launch in the country, comes with an imposing design and exteriors. The Ford Endeavour, on the other hand, is a hardcore off-roading vehicle that has a ton of focus on the luxury and comfort of the passengers as well. It is trying to strike a balance between being a lifestyle vehicle and a hardcore machine with some serious off-roading capabilities. The front end features a Chrome Radiator and Fender Grille, Bi-LED Headlamps, LED DRLs, Front Skid Plates on the bumper and bright roof rails. The sides indicate the long almost 5 m length of the car with large wheels arches and premium 18-inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles and much more. Isuzu mu-X vs Ford Endeavour – Verdict
So, the verdict time is upon us and as always, this is a pretty close fight between these two immensely capable SUVs. To start with, the Isuzu mu-X has been the latest in entry (or re-entry) into the segment, but that doesn’t necessarily reflect in the way it looks and feels on the outside or the inside. On the flipside, Isuzu has focussed more on making the mu-X more rugged and tough with strong material used in the overall construction of the SUV. That makes you feel relaxed while you are taking the mu-X off the trail. If you are someone who is more inclined towards taking your SUV to far-flung areas with no tarmac, you can opt for the mu-X. However, if you are someone who is a bit more interested in features and a richer cabin feels along with a larger SUV overall, Ford Endeavour is your ride.
