Maruti Suki Celerio has been in the works for a long time now and was slated to launch around this time in 2021. However, due to the increase in the number of Covid cases and partial or complete lockdown in almost all the states in the country, automakers are opting for the delay in the launch of their products at the moment. This is not the first time that a carmaker had decided to delay the launch of a product. One of the other main reasons to delay the launches for some OEMs is the shortage of semiconductors. That is also the consequence of the pandemic itself. The compact hatchback was due for a launch and customers were waiting eagerly for the updated Celerio. Let us take a look at what to expect from the upcoming Celerio, which we might see on our roads around the festive season.

2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio- Expected Exteriors
There have been a few spy shots floating around which gives us an idea of how the next-gen Celerio might look like. It is suspected to maintain a tall-boy body stance to keep it in line with its rivals like the Hyundai Santro. Also, it might well be inspired by its own in-house sibling in the Wagon R. The exteriors might include a new headlamp unit, redesigned bumper, LED DRLs, reshaped front grille, new alloy wheels, new taillamps, sporty rear bumper and much more. The overall design is expected to be quite different than the current model on sale representing the fresh and modern age.

2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio- Expected Interiors and Features
The interiors might also see a huge departure from what they currently look like. Needless to say, there will be modern design elements along with modern tech and convenience features which might include a Digital Infotainment Touchscreen Syste, Digital or Part-Digital Instrument Cluster, Steering Mounted Audio Controls, Bluetooth and Smartphone Connectivity, Automatic Climate Control to name a few. The safety aspects might include Dual Airbag Setup, ABS with EBD as standard equipment. There will likely be Reverse Parking Sensors with Cameras as well. All in all, it will most likely be a cabin full of comfort and modern features.

2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio- Expected Engines, Prices and Rivals
The new Celerio will most likely come with a 1.0-litre petrol or a 1.2-litre petrol engine. The 1.0-litre engine will make 68hp and 90Nm and the 1.2-litre will make 82hp and 113Nm. Both engines will come mated to either a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission. We expect the prices of the updated Celerio to be a bit higher than the current model. This means that the 2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio might cost you somewhere between Rs 4.50 lakh to Rs 7.50 lakh, showroom. The rivals of the Celerio are not too many, but they are Hyundai Santro and Renault Kwid.
