The very popular and legendary Royal Enfield has recalled over 2.35 lakh bikes including various models after a defect in the Ignition Coil was found during a regular internal testing. The company has decided to take some proactive measures in order to fix this issue which might affect around 10% of these recalled bikes. The company doesn’t want to wait until someone comes with this issue and has therefore, called the bikes in. Find out if your bike comes under the mentioned models and must go through the process of recall to get your bike checked before you decide to take on an adventurous journey on your Enfield.

What is the problem?
There is an issue with the ignition coil of Classic, Bullet and Meteor models. This can even cause some misfire during the combustion as a result of which the rider might expereince some decline in power and performance. In some rare instances, there might even be an electric short circuit. That is, obviously, an extreme and rare occasion and Royal Enfield wants to make sure that such situations don’t crop up. That is the reason for the recall as a precautionary measure.

Which models are affected?
In total, 2,36,966 motorcycles will be recalled of the three models mentioned above. Of these, the company will call in Meteor motorcycles manufactured and sold between December 2020 and April 2021, and the Classic and Bullet manufactured and sold between January and April 2021. These bikes will get thoroughly inspected reardign the defective ignition coil and Royal Enfield is fairly confident that only about 10% of these models will actually require a replacement. This recall action will be applicable to Meteor, Classic and Bullet model motorcycles sold in India, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Australia & New Zealand and Malaysia between respective time periods mentioned above.

Nothing. The Royal Enfield service teams or the local dealerships will inform the customers which fall under the category of these bikes around that time and arrange for a routine check up of your motorcycle.
