Mahindra XUV300 (5-star NCAP) Keeps Occupants Safe In A HUGE Crash

Mahindra XUV300 boasts of a 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP. It is one of India’s few 5-star safety-rated SUVs. The XUV300 wears this badge with pride and has gained plenty of buyers as a result. In these images, it is clear that the SUV is completely destroyed. In an unfortunate incident, the moving vehicle caught fire and was reduced to ashes soon after. The fire was so intense that one can barely recognize the vehicle. While these are horrifying images, the good news is that no one was injured in this mishap. The extensive safety equipment of the XUV300 is rarely to thank here.

Mahindra XUV300 NCAP Safety Rating

We have seen this happen plenty of times with other cars as well that they catch fire. There could be a lot of reasons for this. It could be caused by the carelessness of the occupants, extreme weather conditions or simply short circuits in one of the electronic components. Whatever the cause may be, the important aspect is whether the car can sustain such hazards and still offer safety to the passengers. That is exactly what Mahindra XUV300 has managed to do in this case. The owners have posted these images themselves in the Mahindra XUV300 owners’ club on Facebook.

Mahindra XUV300 5-Star Global NCAP Safety Rating

Mahindra XUV300 has received a full 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP. This is due to the solid construction of Mahindra vehicles along with a safety equipment list that includes features like segment-first 7 Airbags, All-four Disc Brakes, Front and Rear Parking Sensors with Camera with dynamic guidelines, ABS with EBD and Corner Braking Control, ESP, ISOFIX Child Seat Mounts, 3-point seatbelts for the 2 rear seats, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and much more.

Specs and Prices

The XUV300 comes with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine making 110 hp and 200 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel making 115 hp and 300 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. There are options of 6-speed manual and AMT gearboxes. The XUV300 will soon get a more powerful direct-injection turbo petrol engine making 130 hp. This is an in-house developed Stallion range of engines. That variant will be called the Sportz variant. Currently, the Mahindra XUV300 starts at Rs 8 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 13.33 lakh, ex-showroom.
