It has just come to light that popular Tamil actress Yashika Aannand has been critically injured in an accident. The actor was travelling along with her friends in her Tata Harrier early morning today. Unfortunately, one of her friends, Vallichatti Bhavani (28), is said to have died in this mishap.

As per the initial reports, Aannand and Bhavani, along with two male friends, were travelling on the East Coast Road. It’s said one of the two male friends was behind the wheel when he lost control over the vehicle and hit the median. It’s said that the impact was such that the car overturned, thereby causing severe injuries to the occupants. Vallichatti Bhavani hails from Hyderabad and was working as a software engineer in the United States. The actor and her friends were travelling from Mamallapuram to Chennai when this accident occurred.

As the Tata Harrier approached Soolerikadu around 11:45 PM last night, the driver miscalculated and rammed into the median. The car turned turtle due to the impact. Other road users rushed to rescue the occupants and send them to the nearby hospital but unfortunately, Bhavani is said to have succumbed to her injuries. Others, including Aannand, were transferred to a private hospital after basic treatment was provided at the local Government hospital. A case has been registered at the Mamallapuram police station and the required investigation will be conducted to ascertain the cause of the accident.

Launched in 2018, the Tata Harrier is said to be one of the safest vehicles in its class. While it’s yet to be tested by NCAP, various incidents in the past have demonstrated the robust build of this SUV. However, it’s only obvious that even the safest vehicles can’t keep its occupants totally protected in case of a severe accident. As seen in the visuals, the Harrier has been totally destroyed in the cash with the entire car reduced to a mangled heap of metal owing to the severity of the accident.We wish speedy recovery of Aannand and her friends and offer sincere condolences to friends and family of Bhavani.
