Owner of 15 Days Old Skoda Kushaq Lists Out 4 Problems With His Car

The Skoda Kushaq was launched in late June this year and has received a highly positive response from the buyers of C-SUVs. The Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos has already garnered over 6,000 bookings and has even helped its carmaker post a whopping 234% growth on the sales charts last month. The buyers of this SUV are naturally pretty excited but are even quite sad about the burgeoning waiting period. There’s however one customer who has a totally different set of problems. As the Kushaq finds more homes, the issues with the new offering have started coming out. Case in the point here is one Mr Santosh Dangde, who purchased the Active variant from Garve Skoda, Pune.

As per Santosh, his Skoda Kushaq has been throwing up a list of issues that have marred his ownership experience. The four problems he has listed out include – hard clutch, gear shifts are not smooth, co-driver seat shaking/vibrating a lot and door is shaking/making noise when music system’s volume is increased. While we understand that the owner could be nitpicking with things like the hard clutch and gear shifts not being smooth, the other two problems do seem to be a result of cost-cutting and/or poor quality check exercise. It’s not uncommon for the door pads to start vibrating or squeaking with the music system playing at full blast, but this is something that is mostly seen on low-priced cars.

On the other hand, the Skoda Kushaq is a C-SUV positioned above entry-level models like the Maruti Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon. On sale in a price range of Rs 10.49-17.59 lakh (ex-showroom), the latest entrant in the C-SUV segment takes on well-established models like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. Coming from the house of Skoda Auto India, quality is something that should be a given. However, in the case of this particular Kushaq, it looks like the QC was not done properly before the vehicle was shipped to the dealership. In fact, these are minor issues that could have been traced even during the PDI and rectified at the dealer’s end itself but unfortunately, none of the above was done and it’s actually the owner who’s having to bear with these glitches.

The former outputs a maximum power of 115 PS and a peak torque of 175 Nm, while the latter produces 150 PS and 250 Nm. The smaller engine is available with 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission options while the more powerful motor is available with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG option.
