Here is a unique concept of the Tata Nexon as a Sports Utility Truck (SUT). Now, the increasing popularity of the Nexon compact SUV has persuaded many automobile designers to come up with different versions of the vehicle. In July this year, Tata Nexon broke into the top 10 highest-selling cars in the country. This is no mean feat as this list has traditionally been dominated by Maruti and Hyundai products only. The Nexon gained traction after becoming India’s first 5-star safety-rated car back in 2018. Thereafter, the compact SUV has never looked back. In spite of the competitors like the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Kia Sonet among others, breaking into the top 10 is impressive, to say the least.

This time around, this automobile designer on Instagram has come up with a rather interesting concept and something you don’t see too often. Nexon is shown here as a Sports Utility Truck (SUT). Now, the concept of lifestyle trucks never really caught up in our market. But with products like the Isuzu V-Cross, Force Gurkha and Mahindra Thar have constantly tried to push to envelope every time. People are starting to see the appeal of go-anywhere SUVs, although the volumes are still quite low. Let us look at this concept in a bit of detail.

Tata Nexon Sports Utility Truck
The designer has paid attention to the details and it looks like an actual variant of the Nexon. The front-end is not radically different than the regular Nexon with stylish LED DRLs, sleek headlamps, chunky front grille, large radiator grille with tri-arrow trademark design pattern, large fog lamp units, sporty skid plates. The bonnet has received a hood to make the overall appearance rugged. On the side, the large high-profile tyres are just what you need for those crazy off-road adventures. Side body cladding and characteristic creases along with blacked-out A, B and C-Pillars give purpose to the sie profile. The creativity of the designer is reflected in the way he/she has added the truck bed at the rear. It doesn’t look out of place at all and the overall body goes really well with the SUT concept. It feels like the Tata Nexon has been built to fit into the Sports Utility Truck profile.

The Tata Nexon is offered with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine making 120 hp and 170 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel making 110 hp and 260 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. There are options of a 6-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The prices of the Nexon range between Rs 7.28 lakh and Rs 13.23 lakh, ex-showroom.
