Tata Safari Looks HOT in Track Tool Avatar With 6.2-ltr HEMI Engine

Based on the Harrier, the Tata Safari is a handsome SUV that has been designed by none other than Pratap Bose. While this 3-row SUV surely looks bigger and bulkier than the 2-row model it’s based on, the similar fascia and the same base design has helped the third generation Safari with a very handsome look. However, today, we have some images that visualise the SUV in a track-only avatar that looks really very sporty.

Conceptualised by Bimble Designs, this virtually created Tata Safari looks nothing like anything else out there. Much of the styling updates will be found on the front-end, with the main beams being concealed under a plastic cover. Other updates on the front include a discreet hood scoop that gives the facade a very sporty appearance. The grille and the badge have been blacked out and so has been the faux skid plate. An ST badge has been added. Also, the car has got dual racing stripes running across its length. In the side profile, you’ll be rather quick to notice that the stock wheels have made way for racing rims shod with racing slicks.

Another update here is the single-tone paint job for the entire profile, which means even the plastic cladding lower down has been painted in the same shade of grey as the rest of the SUV. Also, the SUV gets huge SAFARI decals which, frankly, aren’t to our taste but could appeal to some. The roof rails and the plastic trim near the rear quarter glass have also been blacked out. The rear-end doesn’t get much in terms of updates, with the updates here being limited to body-coloured bumper, racing stripes and the ST badge affixed below the car’s name. Overall, these changes work well to make this SUV look like a track-ready tool that can help you clock some serious lap-times.

Of course, the track-only version of the Tata Safari you see here is merely a figment of the artist’s imagination but what’s actually exciting is that the Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine has been replaced with a huge 6.2-litre HEMI V8 from the Jeep Trackhawk. For the uninitiated, the 2.0-litre oil-burner outputs 170PS-350Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic unit. The supercharged 6.2-litre HEMI V8, however, takes things to a whole new level by offering 707PS-875Nm.
