The Hyundai Creta-rival from Toyota, C-HR has been spotted testing in India. The fresh spy shots show a completely camouflaged SUV on the Indian roads. Toyota is eyeing one of the most popular and lucrative segments in the Indian automobile market, the mid-size SUV segment. Ruled by the Koreans, this segment has seen many players trying to dethrone the Creta. In a bid to achieve something along those lines, Toyota intends to bring in its C-HR mid-size SUV to our shore. Now, Toyota is witnessing decent sales in our market mainly on the back of Maruti-sourced Glanza and Urban Cruiser, Innova Crysta and Fortuner. It wants to bring in another mass-market product in a rapidly growing space. Hence, the move to bring in the C-HR mid-size SUV might turn out to be a wise decision. Let us take a look at what to expect from the Creta-rival.

Creta-Rival Toyota C-HR
From the international models, we can take a healthy guess at what the Toyota C-HR might look like. The front-end of the SUV might sport a modern appearance with a sleek Projector LED headlamp unit and LED DRLs, compact grille, a large bumper, angular fog lamp units, large grille area on the bumper making it look like a typical Toyota. The side profile might be relatively sober with no creases on the doors but getting a curve towards to rear, there will be stylish dual-tone 18-inch alloy wheels and chrome window line with floating-roof effect. The rear compartment is what will distinguish it from every other SUV in the market. The design language is quite polarising with a large roof spoiler, angular taillamps stretching out of the body, sporty bumper design, boot angled out of the body as well. It is something that will make the heads turn.

Expected Specs
In the international market, the C-HR comes with a 2.0-litre petrol engine making 144 hp and 188 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. There might be the option of either a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. There might be a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine for India making 135 hp. Being a competitor of the Creta and Seltos, the Toyota C-HR will most definitely have to have a feature-packed cabin, modern tech and comfort features and most importantly, an aggressive price tag. It would, therefore, be logical to conclude that the Toyota C-HR might range between Rs 10 lakh to Rs 17 lakh, ex-showroom.
