The sibling to the Kushaq, VW Taigun has also started giving trouble to its owners. In a recent tweet by a Taigun owner, he mentions the issue he experienced in the brand new mid-size SUV. We have already reported multiple times that many Skoda Kushaq owners are struggling with the EPC issue which renders them stalling in the middle of the road. The SUV has to be towed away to the workshop and the problem still persists. Skoda has not been able to find a permanent solution to it. Now, the Taigun is based on the exact same platform and shares the exact same engines. The first case of an engine malfunction has been reported. A certain Krishna Verma has shared the photo of this along with his comment. Let us see the details of this incident in depth.

Skoda Kushaq & VW Taigun Siblings Trouble Owners
The tweet explains that the owner bought his Taigun a couple of days ago. There were proper Pre-Delivery Inspection and Factory Checks. However, he got stuck on the road for 30 mins after the 2nd day itself. The car wouldn’t move. The steering and the wheels got locked. There was the symbol of engine malfunction. This is shocking considering that it is the German carmaker, VW, that we are talking about. It has maintained a certain quality standard across its range of products. But this time around, things are a bit different. Is it because of the heavy localization levels, we don’t know? The only solution could be to at least enhance the service experience to tackle such issues and other problems if they arise in the near future. Otherwise, the competition from the Koreans will simply blow them away. We hope that the owners of Kushaq and Taigun have their trouble resolved.

VW Taigun
The Taigun comes with two powertrain options including a 1.0-litre TSI engine, making 115hp and 175Nm and the second, a 1.5-litre TSI engine making 150hp and 250Nm. The smaller engine comes with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission option and the larger engine comes with a 7-speed DSG (DCT) gearbox. The prices of the VW Taigun range between Rs 10.49 lakh and Rs 17.49 lakh, ex-showroom.
