The “robust” fuel pump doesn’t seem to be the solution for the Skoda Kushaq EPC issue. The Czech carmaker is struggling with the customers’ complaints of the EPC issue in the Kushaq SUV. The news around the Creta-rival has been overshadowed by the continuous and relentless complaints from the customers who are facing extreme problems with the Kushaq. The EPC issue is forcing them to get stranded on the roads. After the EPC error symbol appears, the car is stalled and it had to be towed away to the service workshop. This is happening within the first few days of buying the Kushaq. Skoda called for a recall to replace the existing fuel pump with a more “robust” unit. However, multiple Kushaq owners have reported the continued EPC issue even after that. This means that the fuel pump replacement is not the best solution and Skoda needs to find the right solution.

Robust Fuel Pump in Skoda Kushaq
As is clear from this post shared by a Skoda Kushaq owner on Facebook, he experienced the EPC error symbol even after he got the fuel pump replaced. He took the vehicle to the service centre again and the error was finally removed by some update. Apart from that, the owner is also experiencing some cabin noises from the door panels, brake noises in the mornings and loose roof liners. These are quite basic issues that should not occur in a car worth Rs 18 lakh. Also, Skoda prides itself on being a premium carmaker which is why the prices are also higher than the competition. However, that has backfired since premiumness and quality are the exact things missing in the Kushaq.

Skoda needs to understand that it doesn’t have so much time to fix this issue. The Kushaq owners are evidently frustrated and rightly so. This EPC issue has to take Skoda too much time to fix. Meanwhile, the competition is strong in the form of new products like the VW Taiguna and MG Astor. The already existing Creta and Seltos continue to post strong sales. If Skoda doesn’t act timely enough, it stands to lose the one chance it has to established itself in the Indian market in this second innings of its India operations.
