Renault Formula Edition Vans - teaser

The partnership between Renault Pro+ and Renault Sport Formula One has created a range of vans – aptly named the Formula Edition vans. It includes variants of the Kangoo, Kangoo Maxi, Trafic, and Master currently on sale.

For your hard earned money, Renault offers a striking colour scheme which combines the energetic yellow commonplace with its F1 cars, with either Pearlescent Black or Star Grey body colours. Other areas which have received cosmetic modification are the grille, fog light coverings and Renault badge, which are now black with Yellow Sirus highlights to accentuate the distinctive styling. On top of this, the Formula Edition vans feature unique black alloy wheels, which feature yellow centres matching that of the other yellow highlights.

Renault has also given the interior a once over. The largest van on offer – the Master – includes chrome dial surrounds, satin air vent surrounds, and closed storage on the dashboard to store your many valuables or collection of failed lottery tickets. There has also been a similar treatment to the Trafic, and while both it and Kangoo get the option for leather steering wheels, the entire range can be sold with cruise control and special edition floor mats.

Equipment on offer includes creature comforts such as Bluetooth, USB, manual air conditioning, on top of the safety and security features available on Renault vans.

Most exciting for F1 fans is that the engine development from Renault Sport Formula One, has been incorporated into the van engines. For example, the Kangoo regenerative braking system helps charge the engine battery when decelerating, recovering energy that would have otherwise been lost.

Price wise, the dCi 90 Kangoo Formula Edition comes in as the cheapest at £17,695, and the most expensive being the LWB medium roof dCi 170 Master Formula Edition, coming in at £33,950. Fitting in between the two, is the Kangoo Maxi Formula Edition, starting at £19,195 in dCi 90 guise, and above that, the Trafic Formula Edition, starting at £24,500 in SWB low roof dCi 120 form.

Powering the vans is a range of dCi diesel engines available (not all engines available with every model), with power outputs including: 90, 110, 120, 125, 130, 145, and 170PS. Drivers who prefer to let the car do all the heavy shifting will be pleased to know that both the Kangoo and Kangoo Maxi are offered with automatic ‘boxes.
