Nissan has teased a new autonomous concept ahead of the 45th Tokyo Motor Show next week.

The concept has no name as yet, but it will be displayed alongside a whole range of Nissan vehicles at this year’s Tokyo exhibit. According to the Japanese marque, it ‘embodies the future of Nissan Intelligent Mobility’ and the video gives us a glimpse of that ethos.

The only known feature on the concept for the time being is the autonomous technology. At the start of the above clip, a banner with “autonomous drive recommended” is shown, followed by an aerial shot of the presumed Nissan concept scanning vehicles passing by, as well as scanning the road in front.

Nissan’s new concept appears to be designed in the shape of a crossover SUV, which isn't surprising given that the car market today is filled with SUVs.

It is the latest in a whole range of Nissan vehicles that are set to feature at the 2017 edition of the Tokyo Motor Show. Earlier this month, they announced a hot Nismo version of the market-leading Leaf EV, claiming Ford Focus RS levels of performance. Joining the Leaf and unnamed autonomous concept is the long-awaited successor to the 370Z and the seventh generation of the Nissan Z-car.

This year's Tokyo Motor Show opens to the public on 27 October and it will run until 4 November.
