Japanese auto giant Toyota has officially released the images of the 2018 Toyota Rush to be launched in Indonesia in January 2018. The second generation of the SUV comes with added functionality like an option for 7 seats and looks more promising than ever. The prices for the same are yet to be released but judging by the success story of its predecessor, the new Rush likely to follow the same.
The exterior of the 2018 Toyota Rush resembles that of the Daihatsu FT concept and the styling cues like the bold shoulder line and the front facia confirm the resemblance. The new Toyota Rush looks more like a crossover than a full-blown SUV. This is done in tandem with the current design theme for all Toyota vehicles. The 2018 Rush features an MPV-like silhouette with certain elements featuring crossover like appeal such as body cladding, faux underbody and raised body height.
The 2018 Toyota Rush features dual tone interior with black and beige being the dominant colours. The dashboard features soft-touch materials and houses a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Miracast and Weblink capabilities. The instrument cluster features a blue and white backlight and the multi-information display is neatly stacked between the dials. The SUV features LED headlight and tail light.
The dimensions of the 2018 Toyota Rush in terms of length, breadth and height are 4,435 mm, 1,695 mm and 1,075 mm respectively and has a wheelbase of 2,685 mm. Powering the Rush is a 2NR-VE, 4-cylinder Dual VVT-i petrol engine that churns out 104PS of power and 136Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox transferring the power to front wheels only. The Sportivo variant gets an option of 4-speed automatic gearbox.
Toyota will also be launching the TRD Sportivo edition of the 2018 Rush featuring TRD badged skid plates with red treatment, side molding, blacked-out fog lamp enclosures and TRD Sportivo badging on the boot door. The flared wheel arches house exclusive TRD 17-inch dual-tone rims. The TRD Sportivo exclusively features the option of keyless entry and as mentioned earlier, the 4-speed automatic transmission will also be available only on the special edition.
While we’ve been focussing on the 2018 Toyota Rush for a long time now and it indeed is a good perspective for the Indian market, the company has not issued any official report for the Indian launch of the Rush. Toyota has always preferred to give attention to its current lineup aiding to good after-sale services and the company’s products are known for their reliability all over the world. Stay Tuned for more info on the 2018 Toyota Rush.
