2018 Toyota Vios to be on shown at the upcoming Auto Expo
The Japanese auto giant and former largest automaker in the World Toyota is planning to fill the huge gap between the Etios and the Innova. The most popular choice of the segment being sedans, Toyota’s contender for the segment will be the Vios sedan. The India-bound 2018 Toyota Vios was recently spotted doing test runs by our friends at Team-bhp. Toyota will be showcasing the upcoming sedan at the 2018 Auto Expo. Exactly like the Skoda Rapid, the Toyota Vios offers different specifications according to the market demands. Even though the Vios sedan is an international product, the specifications like the engine, tech on board will differ from the other markets it’s offered in. The pictures of 2018 Toyota Vios spied testing confirms the launch of the sedan in India.
2018 Toyota Vios India Launch Price
The upcoming Toyota Vios sedan is expected to be showcased at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo. The formal launch of the sedan will take place sometime during the festive season in October. The upcoming 2018 Toyota Vios spied testing, is slated to compete with Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Ciaz, expect it to be priced between INR 9 to INR 12 lakh.
2018 Toyota Vios India Specifications
The Toyota Vios, otherwise known as Yaris Ativ in certain markets, was launched in Thailand with a 1.2-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine producing 86 PS of power and 108 Nm of torque. However, the Indian Vios spied testing here is expected to carry the 1.5-litre Dual VVT-i petrol engine that churns out 105 bhp and 140 Nm of torque. Realising the customer demand here, the 1.5-litre diesel unit could also be on the cards.
The upcoming 2018 Toyota Vios that has been spied testing recently carried projector headlamps with LED light guides, LED daytime running lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, a tail lamp with a LED light guide, shark fin antenna, keyless entry with start-stop button, touchscreen infotainment system, rear seat middle armrest and rear aircon vents. These features will be carried over to the production variant amongst others.

The upcoming 2018 Toyota Vios Spied testing recently will hold a wheelbase of 2,550mm and a ground clearance of 133mm. The length, width and height of the Vios sedan are 4,425mm, 1,730mm, 1,475mm respectively.
2018 Toyota Vios Spied Competition
Upon launch, the 2018 Toyota Vios will compete in the already crowded mid-size sedan segment. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Honda City and Hyundai Verna will be the Toyota’s main competition. The Vios will be launching sometime during the second half of the year and is expected to be showcased at the upcoming 2018 Auto Expo.
