The updated 2018 TVS Apache 200 ABS Carburetor model has been launched at INR 1.08 lakh ex-showroom, Mumbai. We are still awaiting the launch of FI (Fuel Injection) variant.
TVS Motors is gearing up for another successful year updating its entire portfolio starting with the Apache 200. The company recently introduced the much awaited Apache 310 RR late last year. The street sports bike is an outcome of the joint venture between TVS and BMW. TVS’s highest selling brand name ‘Apache’ carries its racing legacy and the products offered under the brand name offer similar sporty characteristics. TVS was one of the first manufacturers to offer ABS on two-wheelers and continues to inherit the safety features in other products from the lineup as well. Now, the company has come up with 2018 TVS Apache RTR 200 ABS Carburetor model.
2018 TVS Apache RTR 200 ABS – Launch Price
The TVS Apache 200 for 2018 is updated with ABS option available to its customers. The safety feature is only available on the carb variant for now with the Apache 200 getting an increase in the price of about INR 15,000. The 2018 Apache 200 ABS goes on sale for INR 1.08 lakh ex-showroom, Mumbai. Interested buyers get to choose between White and Black colour options.
2018 TVS Apache RTR 200 ABS – Specifications
The 2018 Apache 200 ABS variants feature dual-channel ABS unit from Bosch. The street naked bikes come loaded with Pirelli tyres as standard. The transmission unit features an updated clutch which gets additional plate amounting to a total of 6 plates now as the model its replaces has 5. TVS has already released the price of the Apache 200 FI ABS variant in November 2017 which is supposed to retail for INR 1.07 lakh ex-showroom Mumbai. The formal launch of the same will take place soon enough.
2018 TVS Apache RTR 200 ABS – Drivetrain
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is powered by a 197.7 cc single cylinder, oil-cum-air cooled engine that churns out 20.5 PS of peak power and 18.1 Nm of torque. These figures indicate the output of the carburetor variant. The Fuel Injection variant will offer 21 PS of peak power while the torque output essentially remains the same.
2018 TVS Apache RTR 200 ABS – Highlights
TVS Apache RTR 200 4V offers its customers sharp styling with the headlamp carrying pilot LEDs on each side. The instrument cluster is a digital one and the tail light feature LED for illumination. The bike offers split seats for the rider and the pillion with the latter seating higher than the rider. The double barrel exhaust system offers better outflow of exhaust besides adding to the sporty aesthetics of the new bike.
Also on offer are the grippy wide ratio Remora tubeless tyres. These grippy tyres are offered along with the standard Pirelli tyres for better racing performance. The 2018 Apache RTR 200 4V offers petal disc brakes at each end with dual-channel ABS along with rear liftoff protection ability. Electric-start being the only option available, the new Apache commands a length, width and height of 2,050mm, 790mm and 1,105mm respectively. The wheelbase stretches to 1,353mm and offers a ground clearance of 180mm. The kerb weight of the 2018 Apache RTR 200 4V is 148 kg.
