Hardcore Lamborghini Aventador Super Veloce Jota spied at the Nurburgring, and it could pack almost 800bhp

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ - spyshot front/side action

Lamborghini is applying the finishing touches to the most extreme version of its flagship supercar, the Aventador SVJ, and it’s due to be revealed before the end of the year.

Despite the prototypes in the latest spy shots being completely disguised, there’s no hiding what’s going on beneath. The Aventador SVJ will receive a complete aerodynamic overhaul with the simple aim of improving ultimate performance.

At the front an aggressive bumper and front splitter combination will improve the car’s downforce, while on the flanks gaping air intakes look to have been increased in size to feed more air to the 6.5-litre V12 engine. A full length, fixed rear wing has also been added to aid aerodynamic efficiency along with a prominent rear diffuser and reworked exhaust system.

But it’s not only the designers who have been busy; engineers are also likely to have been set to work on the V12 engine and chassis. Power is expected to jump from the current Aventador SV’s 730bhp output to around 800bhp, while chassis and suspension tweaks should help the SVJ contain the extra power.

The letter J in the SVJ name stands for Jota and has previously been reserved for Lamborghini’s most aggressive and exclusive vehicles. Only two models have previously worn the badge, the Miura and Diablo, but now the Aventador is about to join that elite group.
