Mazda has added another special edition model to its line-up in the form of the Mazda 3 Sport Black – which follows the smaller 2 Sport Black into UK showrooms.
Like that car, the 3 Sport Black isn’t all-new – this special edition model version has been on sale before, but has been reintroduced for 2018.
• Strangest special edition cars ever
Based on the SE-L Nav trim Mazda 3, the Sport Black arrives with a number of stand out styling features. Unique, darkened 18-inch alloy wheels are part of the billing, with a black roof spoiler and black, power folding heated door mirrors rounding off the look. Mazda’s trademark Soul Red Metallic paint finish is standard, though a white and blue metallic shade are also available.
Inside, the driver gets a heated steering wheel and cruise control. Elsewhere, there’s a dual-zone climate control system, a BOSE nine-speaker audio setup, and a seven-inch colour touchscreen infotainment system complete with sat-nav and a reversing camera.
Other standard kit includes rear parking sensors, automatic wipers, automatic adaptive LED headlights, keyless entry, plus Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
Under the bonnet, the 3 Sport Black uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol developing 118bhp. Power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox.
The Mazda 3 Sport Black is on sale in the UK from today. It’s limited to 700 units, and is priced at £21,595.
