The new Maruti small car named ‘Crosshiker’ might come in 2019 with Bharat VI engines. The hatchback is expected to start costing from Rs 2.7 Lakhs and might go up to Rs 4.5 Lakhs (ex-showroom). After it is launched, the ‘Crosshiker’ will become Maruti’s entry-level car.
Recently, there were several rumours regarding new Alto being launched. However, it is also speculated that Alto 800 might be replaced by the ‘Crosshiker’ for competition with Renault Kwid. The body shape and design might be different from Alto, but it would not get the top end features of Maruti’s premium cars. It might get features like ABS, dual airbags, infotainment system. It is speculated to get a compact SUV like body with an upright stance. Also, Alto K10 might become the new Alto with updated features and a BS VI compliant engine. In this article, we have written details about the price, its launch date, design and features that can be expected from this hatchback.
The Renault Kwid has turned out quite a successful player in the entry-level segment in India. However, the car is still far from becoming a segment leader which continues to be the Maruti Alto 800. Continuously growing in the segment, Kwid still takes away chunks of sales figures of Alto. Mainly because of its sporty looks and updated technology, it is still preferred by a lot of Indians.
Price:
The new Maruti Small Car, Crosshiker is expected to be priced between Rs 2.7 Lakh to Rs 4.5 Lakh (ex-showroom). The price, slightly higher than Alto, will provide for all the updated features and technology. The pricing will be perfect for any entry level as Kwid is also priced in the same range.
Launch:
The plans on Maruti Crosshiker are not made yet, as it did not feature in the Auto Expo 2018 too. However, it is expected to be launched by mid-2019 after the passing of BS VI engines. Hence, it is too early to comment on the launch date in India.
