By festive season this year, Honda Car India is going to introduce the next-generation iteration of the CR-V SUV in India. The Japanese automaker showcased this vehicle in India for the first time at the 2018 Auto Expo. Since this version is a generation update, it comes with a complete makeover of its exterior and interior design. Also, it is going to be a huge step-up in terms of its feature list in comparison to the older generation model. However, for the India spec version, the biggest unique upgrade is going to be the introduction of a 120 BHP diesel engine in its model line up. This is for the first time that this SUV is going to be offered with an oil-burner.
2018 Honda CR-V Launch Date
Honda is yet to finalise a specific launch date for the new CR-V in India. However, it said at the Auto Expo that the seven-seater SUV will reach Indian Shores before the end of the 2018-19 fiscal.

2018 Honda CR-V Price
The Honda CR-V is a seven-seater premium SUV. This will put its price close to the mark of INR 30 Lakh. Honda is likely to keep variants to the minimum. As a result of this, the base petrol trim will cost around INR 27 Lakh. However, the top end diesel trim will cost INR 30 Lakh. Prices are ex-showroom.
2018 Honda CR-V Engine Specifications
As mentioned, the 2018iteration of the Honda CR-V is going to get a 1.6-litre diesel engine in its model line-up in India. This oil-burner is capable of producing 120 BHP of power along with 120 BHP of power along with 350 Nm of peak torque. It will come as standard with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Higher variants are going to get the option of a CVT automatic gearbox as well.
In addition to the diesel engine, the flagship SUV from Honda is also going to get a 2.4-litre petrol engine in its model line-up as well. This engine is capable of producing 154 BHP of power along with 190 Nm of peak torque. This engine is likely to come only with a 9-speed automatic gearbox with no manual option on offer.

2018 Honda CR-V Mileage
As mentioned before, the 2018 iteration of the Honda CR-V will retail in India with a choice of both petrol and diesel engine options. The 2.4-litre i-VTEC petrol engine is expected to give a mileage of 12-14 km/l. While the 1.6-litre diesel engine is likely to have a fuel efficiency of 18-20 km/l.

Dimensionally, this flagship SUV from Honda is going to measure 4,596 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width and 1,679 mm in height. This SUV has a wheelbase of 2,660 mm. While the ground clearance stands at 198 mm. The CR-V boasts of a boot capacity of 967-litres.
