Hero Destini 125 is the first 125cc offering from Hero Motocorp. The scooter is set to launch on 22nd October. It goes against Activa 125 and Access 125. It is basically based on the 110cc Duet with some visual changes.
Hero Motocorp currently has three 110cc scooters in India, which include Pleasure, Duet, and Maestro. Now, the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer is entering the 125cc scooter segment with the new Hero Destini 125. At the Auto Expo 2018, Hero showcased the Duet 125. The Destini is based on the Duet 125 with some visual upgrades. It will be a family offering and the upcoming Maestro Edge 125 will be for the youngsters. The Destini 125 is going to launch in India on 22nd October.
The brochures of the Destini 125 have been leaked online already. So, we have the exact specifications. It gets a 125cc air-cooled engine producing 8.7 HP and 10.2 Nm. For transmission, it uses a Variomatic Drive gearbox. The power figures are higher than Activa and Access.

For suspension, it uses Telescopic unit in the front and a Single Coil Spring Hydraulic type suspension in the rear. As of now, it gets only drum brakes in the front and rear. Going by its competition, Hero Destini 125 will most likely get a disc brake variant too.
The Hero Destini 125 is 1809 mm long, 729 mm wide and 1154 tall. The wheelbase is 1245 mm long and the ground clearance is 155 mm. The kerb weight of the scooter is 111.5 kgs, which is a lot heavier than its counterparts.

The fuel tank capacity is 5.5 Litres, which could deliver a riding range of up to 250 kms on a full tank. For better fuel efficiency, it will get the idle-start-stop system.
Other features onboard will include an optional front disc brake, integrated braking system, side stand indicator, pass switch, external fuel filler cap, Automatic Headlamp, Mobile Charging port and Halogen Multi-reflector headlamps.

Talking about the price, we expect a decent range. Access 125 is the cheapest 125cc scooter in the market. So, we expect the Hero Destini 125 to start off at around Rs 57,000 (ex-showroom prices) onwards. The Maestro Edge 125 will be costlier than the Destini 125.
