Hero Destini 125 launched in India – Rivals Activa 125 and Access 125

Hero Destini 125 has been launched in India. It a family targeted 125cc scooter which goes against the likes of Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125. The prices of the scooter start at Rs 54,650 (ex-showroom Delhi). 

Hero’s first 125cc scooter has been launched in India amidst the festive season. The Hero Destini 125 is a proper family oriented scooter with subtle and premium looks. The Destini is basically based on the Duet 125, which was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. Along with Duet, Hero also showcased the Maestro Edge 125 which will launch later. The Destini 125 is developed at Hero Motocorp’s Center of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur, where it was also spotted earlier. It comes in LX and VX variants. The VX variant is priced at Rs 57,500 (ex-showroom Delhi).

With the launch of Destini 125, it plans to take on the biggies in the 125cc segment. It is squarely aimed against Honda Activa 125 and Suzuki Access 125. Currently, it has Pleasure, Maestro Edge and Duet in its scooter lineup. All of its three scooters are considerably doing good in the market.

The Hero Destini 125 features Hero’s i3S idling system. This technology basically automatically switches off the engine when it is idling or at a traffic signal. Once you put the throttle, the engine is switched on automatically and you can resume riding. This technology helps in achieving high fuel efficiency.

The Hero Destini 125 gets a 125cc air-cooled engine which produces 8.7 HP and 10.2 Nm of torque. Based on the figures, it gets more power than Activa 125 and Access 125. For fuel efficiency, it gets the i3S technology.

The features aboard the Hero Destini 125 include side stand indicator, semi-digital instrument cluster, pass light, external fuel filling cap, mobile charging port, and more. The feature list looks good as compared to its prime rivals. Design highlights include a bold premium chrome chest, side chrome garnishes, cast wheels, body-colour mirrors, and a dual-tone seat cover.

Most importantly, it misses out on the necessary optional front disc brake. While all of the other 125cc models offer one, Hero says that it will offer disc brake on the upcoming sportier 125cc Hero scooter.

Hero Destini 125 comes in total 4 colour options – Noble Red, Chestnut Bronze, Panther Black and Pearl Silver White.
