The Tata Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP are going to officially launch in India on the 26th of October this year. Here is all that you need to know about them.
Since the 2018 Auto Expo, we have been eagerly waiting for Tata Motors to launch the JTP iterations of the Tiago and the Tigor in India. Now it seems that the wait is finally over. Going by recent media reports, it is to be believed that on 26th of October this year, Tata Motors is going to launch the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP in India.
We first saw these performance-oriented versions of the Tiago and the Tigor at the 2018 Auto Expo in February. They come with several visual additions in comparison to the standard iterations of these vehicles.

For instance, both the Tata Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP get sportier bumpers. In addition to this, the headlamps feature black highlights. Furthermore, to increase the aesthetic appeal, they get side skirts along with sportier alloy wheels.
Just like the outside, we expect these cars to get a revised interior design as well. The Tata Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP are likely to get contrasting stitching on the seat fabrics. Also, expect a similar treatment on the gear selector and the steering wheel as well. The dashboard colour scheme will be primarily black. However, to complement the same, there will be several silver accents as well.

Both the Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP will get a slightly better equipment list than their standard iterations. For instance, expect these cars to come with an all-new touchscreen infotainment system. This unit is likely to be the same one seen on the recently updated Tata Tigor compact sedan.
All that said, the biggest highlight of the Tata Tigor JTP and Tigor JTP editions is going to be under the hood. Both these cars will get the 1.2-litre, turbocharged, 3-cylinder petrol engine from the Nexon compact SUV. This engine is capable of churning out 109 BHP of power along with 170 Nm of peak torque. However, some reports state that the engines in these two cars will have well over 110 BHp of power.

As standard, both these cars will get a 5-speed manual transmission. There will be no automatic gearbox variant on offer for these JTP variants. In addition to the reworked engine, the Tata Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP are going to come with sportier suspension set-up as well. This will result in a lower ride height of these performance-oriented versions.
In terms of pricing, the Tata Tiago JTP and the Tigor JTP are likely to cost around INR 1 lakh dearer to the standard variants of these vehicles. Also, do not expect these cars to launch with multiple variants.
