Yamaha R15 V3 ABS is going to launch in the April-May period, as per our sources. It will mostly carry a premium of over Rs 12000-15000 over the current pricing. The R15 is a very popular bike in India and is also amongst the top sellers for Yamaha.
As per Government’s rules, every two-wheeler of 125cc or more displacement will have to compulsory equip ABS. This norm will kick in from April 2019. So, lately, a lot of manufacturers have started testing their bikes already with ABS setup. The latest news that we get is that Yamaha R15 V3 ABS works have also begun. As per our sources, it might launch in the April-May 2019 period and would carry a premium of around Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000 more than the current pricing. Read more about the R15 V3 here.
The Yamaha R15 V3 is priced at Rs 1.25 Lakhs and the Moto GP Edition retails at Rs 1.30 Lakhs. The ABS variant might cost around Rs 1.40 Lakhs (all prices ex-showroom).

As per media reports, various sightings of the Yamaha R15 V3 ABS have occurred. It is one of the cheapest sports bikes and is easily a track-friendly bike too. Well, Yamaha ‘R’ series are all sporty bikes, starting right from R125 to R1. Well, Yamaha R1 is one of the fastest bikes in the world.
Once the Yamaha R15 V3 ABS comes in, the bike becomes an all-rounder. It will mechanically continue with the same 155cc fuel injection engine. The engine produces 19.31 HP power and 14.7 Nm torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

For braking, the R15 uses front and rear disc brakes. In the front, it uses telescopic forks suspension and in the rear, it uses Link monoshock unit. Although, there are speculations suggesting that sometime later it might get Inverted forks in the front.
Features on the R15 V3 include Split-Dual LED headlamps, Clip-on Handlebars, Tank Protector, Split Seats, New Digital Instrument Cluster, New Rear View Mirrors and LED Taillamp. The design elements on the R15 include heavy decals, a faux air intake between the dual headlamps and new colour options.

Recently, the Moto GP edition of R15 was launched in India. It just received some minor cosmetic changes. The changes include new livery, a new ‘Racing Blue Paint’ and some logo decals over the body. The looks come from the original Moto GP Yamaha bikes.
