2018 Maruti Ciaz recalled for faulty Speedometer Assembly

Maruti Ciaz recalled: Maruti Suzuki has issued a voluntary recall cited as a ‘proactively undertaken service campaign’ to fix the faulty speedometer assembly in the facelifted Ciaz.

To fix the faulty speedometer assembly of the new Ciaz and to replace the owner’s manual, Maruti Suzuki has issued a voluntary recall or a proactively undertaken ‘service campaign’.

This recall or the ‘Service Campaign’ is only valid for the top-end Zeta and the Alpha variants of the new Maruti Ciaz. There is no safety concern due to the faulty parts and their replacement will be done free of cost by Maruti Suzuki.

Units of the new Maruti Ciaz manufactured between 1st August 2018 to 21st September 2018 fall under this recall. Owners of these vehicles will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki of inspection and subsequent replacement of the faulty part at no cost.

Owners of the new Maruti Ciaz can check if their car is affected or not by visiting the official website of Maruti Ciaz. There under the ‘IMP. Customer Info’ you have to just enter you Ciaz’s chassis number. You can find your vehicle chassis number on the vehicle ID plate. The same is also written on your car’s registration documents.

Maruti Suzuki introduced the new Ciaz in India during the month of August this year. It now comes with a slightly redesigned front end and several other minor feature enhancements. The headlights, in the top-end variant, are now full LEDs, in addition to LED fog-lamps.

Apart from these cosmetic changes, the facelifted Ciaz also comes with an all-new mild-hybrid petrol engine. This is Maruti’s all-new 1.5-litre K15B unit which comes with a mild-hybrid system as standard across all variants. It replaces the earlier 1.4-litre unit and generates 105 BHP of power. As standard, it comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox. There is a 4-speed automatic variant also on offer. The diesel engine remains the same as before.
