Suzuki GSX-S125 has been unveiled at the EICMA 2018. It is a street-naked bike, which is the least powerful performance related bike in Suzuki’s lineup. This bike will most likely not make it to the Indian markets.
2019 Suzuki GSX-S125 makes its way to EICMA 2018. The much-anticipated bike has finally been unveiled at the EICMA, in Italy. It is the smallest performance motorcycle from the Japanese two-wheeler giant. New GSX-S125 comes with many premium features and most importantly, with ABS. However, this bike is not going to make it to India anytime soon. As of now, the smallest performance bike in India is Yamaha R15 V3. GSX S125 could have created a new 125cc performance motorcycle segment, which consists of only commuter friendly motorcycles.
Features onboard the performance bike include a full LCD instrument cluster, coolant temperature reading, vertically stacked LED headlights, Suzuki Easy Start System with Shutter-Key Lock, keyless ignition, split seats and electronic fuel injection.

For safety, it comes with lightweight ABS, front petal disc brake and rear disc brake. The ABS in this bike is very compact and Suzuki claims that it weighs only 0.59 Kgs.
2019 Suzuki GSX-S125 uses telescopic forks in the front and link type suspension in the rear. For braking purposes, it uses 290 mm petal disc with a twin-piston calliper in the front and a 187mm petal disc brake with a single-piston calliper at the rear. Additionally, it comes with dual-channel ABS setup. It weighs around 130 kgs with an upright riding position.
The engine of 2019 Suzuki GSX-S125 remains the same as the previous one. It gets a 124.6cc liquid-cooled DOHC engine. The engine cranks out 15 horses at 10,000 RPM and 11.5 Nm of peak torque at 8,000 RPM.

For transmission, the bike pairs up with a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. For better fuel efficiency, it gets Electronic fuel injection system, which comes equipped with 6 sensors.
In India, currently, there is no 125cc performance related motorcycles. If this comes to India, its pricing will be higher than the regular 125cc commuter bikes. Yamaha R15’s case is similar, as it is way pricier than regular 150cc bikes. If it comes to India, it might be easily priced above Rs 90,000.

Globally, Suzuki GSX-S125 competes with the likes of KTM Duke 125, Yamaha MT-125, Kawasaki Z125 and Aprilia Tuono 125. Duke 125 is reportedly going to be launched in the Indian market soon. As of now, it is manufactured from India for export purposes.
