2018 Maruti Ertiga bookings have begun in full force. The bookings have reached up to 10,000 units in just week, increasing the waiting period. The MPV is available in petrol and diesel variants.
New-gen Maruti Ertiga debuted the market just 2 days back. The bookings opened up last week at the showrooms. Now, reports say that the bookings have reached up to 10,000 units in just 1 week. The waiting period for same has increased up to 2-3 months depending on the variants.
As per CarAndBike, the main demand is inclined towards petrol variants rather than diesel variants. CNG variant has not been introduced currently, which is also very popular among taxi fleets and price owners as well.
2018 Maruti Ertiga is now bigger, more stylish and offers more features as well. It also comes with a new 1.5 Litre petrol engine that pairs up with the mild-hybrid SHVS system. The same engine debuted in the new Ciaz. SHVS system used to come only with diesel variants earlier.

The 1.5 Litre petrol engine puts out 103 BHP and 138 Nm of peak torque. However, this engine is not BS-6 compliant. For diesel variants, 2018 Maruti Ertiga uses the same old 1.3 Litre DDiS diesel engine. The diesel engine puts out 88 BHP and 200 Nm of peak torque.
For transmission purposes, the petrol variant uses a 5-speed manual gearbox with an option of a 5-speed Automatic unit. The diesel variant is only offered with a 5-speed gearbox. Like the earlier version, there is no possibility of a diesel-auto combination.
2018 Maruti Ertiga comes with features such as Rear AC vents, Remote keyless entry, Day/night inside rear view mirror, Steering-mounted audio and telephony controls, Automatic climate control, Push button start/stop, 12V charging port in all three rows and SmartPlay infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and navigation.

Safety features onboard include Dual airbags, ABS with EBD, Isofix child seat mounts, Speed sensitive door locks, Rear parking sensors, Electronic Stability Program (AT), Hill Hold Function (AT) and Rear parking camera.
2018 Maruti Ertiga is now taller, wider and longer than the earlier generation. The length of the MPV stands 99mm over the last generation. The width and height have increased by 40 mm and 5mm respectively. The wheelbase remains the same at 2740mm.
The prices of new Ertiga start off at Rs 7.44 Lakhs up to Rs 9.95 Lakhs for the petrol variant. The diesel variant starts off at Rs 8.84 Lakhs, going up to Rs 10.90 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices).

As of now, its nearest competitors include Mahindra Marazzo and Renault Lodgy. Hexa and Innova Crysta are priced way above the Ertiga.
