Royal Enfield 650 Twins have been launched in India. However, both the bikes are facing a waiting period of 3 months. Deliveries of GT 650 will start from January 2019.
Royal Enfield 650 Twins finally made their debut in India a week ago. Now, both the bikes are available across all dealerships, with test rides commencing in a day or two. For Rs 5,000 you can book the 650 Twins.
However, due to high bookings, the waiting period of Royal Enfield 650 Twins is now 3 months and above. While GT 650 deliveries will begin by January 2019, the same of Interceptor will begin by February 2019.
Continental GT 650 is priced starting at Rs 2.65 Lakhs to Rs 2.72 Lakhs. Interceptor goes for Rs 2.50 Lakhs up to Rs 2.68 Lakhs (prices ex-showroom).

As per dealer sources, some dealers have begun test rides from the showroom. All of the dealerships will offer test rides by a day or two. Doorstep test rides will begin shortly for customers at their home or office.
As per online reports, metro cities will first receive the bikes. First delivery batch will start in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. Following which, the deliveries will start in tier-II cities.
Royal Enfield 650 Twins were first launched globally in September last week, following a launch in European countries in October last week. As of now, the Twins are the most powerful Royal Enfield bikes in production.

While Continental GT 650 is a retro cafe racer, Interceptor is a Classic Roadster. When you compare both the bikes, you would find minimum differences. While GT 650 offers a more dedicated riding position, Interceptor offers an upright position. Other than that, both the bikes have a different set of handlebars and a distinctively sculpted fuel tank.
Both the bikes use a newly developed 650cc parallel twin-cylinder engine, which is not BS-6 compliant. The engine produces 47 BHP and 52 Nm of peak torque. For transmission purposes, the bike uses a 6-speed wet multi-plate clutch.
Suspension duties are handled by 41mm DIA telescopic forks up front and twin-shock absorbers at the back. For braking purposes, the bikes use a 320mm disc brake in front and 240mm disc brake at the back, paired up with a dual-channel ABS setup.

As of now, Royal Enfield 650 Twins face no competition. Their nearest competitor is Harley Davidson Street 750, that is way pricey. As per online reports, BSA Motorcycles might be launched in India by a year or two. BSA Motorcycles were known for higher capacity motorcycles, above 500cc and so.
