Hero Xpulse 200T unveiled at EICMA 2018; launching early next year

Hero Xpulse 200T has been unveiled at EICMA 2018. 200T is a touring motorcycle while the Xpulse 200 is an off-roading bike. Both of the premium motorcycles are launching early next year.

At the ongoing EICMA, Hero unveiled a variety of concept models. The list included a touring motorcycle, a flat track racer, a scrambler and a cafe racer. All of these are based on the platform of Xpulse 200. Now, Hero Motocorp has officially confirmed that Hero Xpulse 200T will be launched along with Xpulse 200, by early next year. Xpulse is an off-roading bike whereas Xpulse 200T is meant for long touring with loading capabilities. Hero is going to hold a contest to decide which of the other concept models should go for proper production.

Hero Xpulse 200T

Hero Xpulse 200T is based on the Xpulse 200. However, it follows a rather retro styling packed with modern features. The 200T comes with features such as single channel ABS, LED head and tail lamps, digital speedometer with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. Also, it comes with a large luggage plate, apt for a touring motorcycle.

Hero Xpulse 200T will use the same engine of Xpulse 200. It is a 198cc single-cylinder engine producing 18 BHP and 17.1 Nm of peak torque. The engine pairs up with a 6-speed gearbox. Since it is Hero, the mileage figures would be good for those special long rides.

Talking about the design, it follows a tall-boy stance. At the front, it gets a new style of alloy wheels fitted with disc brake and USD forks. It gets a split LED headlamp below the tinted windscreen. It gets a large metal belly pan for protecting the engine. Other highlights include a single seat, high placed exhaust muffler, pillion grab rails and LED tail lamps.

The differences between Hero Xpulse 200T and Xpulse 200 is a taller stance, a different handlebar, flat seat, smaller 17-inch wheels and a lower ground clearance of 30mm. Obviously, the design and styling are clearly distinctive.

Hero Motocorp has also showcased a Scrambler, a cafe racer, a desert bike and a Flat Track bike based on the Xpulse 200T. The cafe racer seems looks like a modern racer with loud styling cues. The flat track comes with two gears, rear suspension and no brakes. The Desert and Scrambler are for the off-track and terrain riding.
