Honda X-Blade has been launched with a single-channel ABS setup. Now CB Hornet 160R and X-Blade are the two Honda commuter bikes with this safety feature.

Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India have updated the X-Blade 160cc commuter with a single-channel ABS setup. The updated bike is now priced at Rs 87,776, which is around Rs 8,000 costlier than the non-ABS version.

Honda X-Blade comes with a standard fitment of a 276mm disc brake at the front and 130mm drum brakes at the back. Now it doubles up with ABS at the front.

As per Government’s safety rules for two-wheelers, all two-wheelers above 125cc should come with Anti-Braking Safety. The regulations kick in from April 2019 so all the motorcycles will be updated soon. Many of the brands have already started updating their models with ABS.

With ABS, Honda X-Blade receives minor visual changes like an engine belly cover, front suspension forks covering and wheel rim stripes. Other than these upgrades, the rest of the motorcycle remains the same.

Honda X-Blade continues with the same HET 162cc engine that produces 13.93 BHP @ 8500 RPM and peak torque of 13.9 Nm @ 6,000 RPM. For transmission purposes, it uses a 5-speed manual gearbox.

X-Blade offers an approximate mileage of 48 kmpl. With a fuel tank capacity of 12 Litres, it delivers a riding range of around 580 kms on the full tank.

Front telescopic forks and rear mono-shocks handle the suspension duties of the bike. For braking, it comes with standard front disc-rear drum setup with ABS.

Features onboard Honda X-Blade include Hazard switch, fully digital instrument cluster, gear position indicator, first-in-class Robo LED headlamp and LED tail lamps. With adequate features, it also offers great styling with the muscular and toned fuel tank.

It looks sleeker than the Hornet 160R, but more like a sporty-commuter motorcycle. Honda currently has 3 motorcycles in the 160cc segment which include X-Blade, Hornet and CB Unicorn.

Honda X-Blade comes in 5 colour options which include Pearl Spartan Red, Matte Frozen Silver, Matte Marshal Green Metallic, Matte Marvel Blue Metallic and Pearl Igneous Black.

The non-ABS variant of the bike is priced at Rs 79,778 (all prices ex-showroom). At this price, it competes with the likes of Suzuki Gixxer, Bajaj Pulsar 150, Bajaj Pulsar NS160 and Yamaha FZ-S.
