In the latest teaser, Maruti has finally revealed its upcoming micro-SUV, in its complete flesh. Ahead of the launch next week, we review the design of Maruti S-Presso.
After teasing, spying and leaking everything about Maruti’s upcoming kid, the manufacturer has finally revealed its micro SUV. The Maruti S-Presso been revealed in the latest teaser and ahead if our review of its design.
But first, the S-Presso is scheduled to be launched on 30th September. The engine specifications, colours and the features of the car have already been leaked, as it squarely goes against the likes of Renault Kwid.

Taking on our review of the design of the Maruti S-Presso it looks similar to the Maruti Alto. The styling is completely different from the Alto, but based on its overall appearance, some similarities to the Alto as well as the WagonR can be drawn.
At the front, you get blacked out bulky bumpers which house the fog lamps. The front grille is taken on the Vitara Brezza and with ‘not-too sloping bonnet’ Maruti completes the SUV look from the front. I would say, almost near.
From the side, it especially looks a lot like the Maruti WagonR, as you get similar wheel arches, similar creases, window lines and even the rearview mirrors. It does not come with alloy wheels, even on the top-spec variant. From the back, you find its similarity to the Alto K10.
From inside the cabin, the centre-console just reminds you of one car – Mini Cooper. The off-set speedometer with the orange detailing around it is something new. That said, the interiors look refreshed and attractive, but not at all premium.

Summing up my review of the design of the Maruti S-Presso, it might not portray the SUV type feeling, but you will be confident of taking this crossover-hatch to a new set of terrain. With the high ground clearance, it will tackle very mild off-roading patches.
So, the S-Presso will get a 1.0 Litre BS-6 compliant engine, with the options of a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT as well. Maruti is going to be positioned between the Alto K10 and WagonR, so expect the prices to start at around Rs 3.6 Lakhs.
