If the N Line engine comes to the Grand i10 Nios and with the same power like the Venue which is 120 bhp then it will be the most powerful in the performance segment hatchback under Rs 10 lakh.
At the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show, Hyundai unveiled the i10 with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol N line engine. Since the car will not come to the Indian markets, Hyundai might want to launch the turbo petrol, N Line engine to their recently launched Grand i10 Nios.
The N Line is the turbo addition to the petrol motor and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios might be the first one to get this engine. Currently, Hyundai offers a turbo petrol engine in the Venue which churns out 120 bhp and a peak torque of 242 Nm. It comes with a 7-speed DCT or a 6-speed manual transmission.
Like the Tiago JTP, Baleno RS and Polo GT TSI, the Grand i10 Nios N line could be placed in the power segment hatchback. And if it continues to use the Venue’s engine, then it will be the most powerful performance hatchback of the lot.

Of course, with the added power, the ride quality will improve and so will the suspension setup and braking for that matter. It will come with stiff suspension, improved handling and it might see an addition of rear disc brakes too.
The spy shots caught tells us about the N Line inspired alloy wheels design and the floating touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard. And if it comes in the Indian market then we can expect blacked out radiator grille, dual exhaust set up and among others to give it a sporty look.
Currently in India, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios comes in two engine options – BS6 petrol and a BS4 diesel engine. Under the hood, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios gets a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which churns out 81 bhp with a peak torque of 115 Nm. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox.

The 1.2L turbocharged diesel engine could be offered with BS6 version too. The oil burner churns out 74 bhp with 190 Nm of torque and is mated to 5-speed MT and an AMT gearbox. The ARAI claimed fuel efficiency sticks to 26.2 kmpl for the diesel, 20.7 for the petrol manual and 20.5 for the petrol AMT.
The prices of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios starts from Rs 5.01 lakh for the base trim and top model fetches to Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It competes with the likes of Ford Figo, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Tata Tiago.
