New 2019 Hyundai Elantra Launch On 3rd October; Bookings Open Now

Hyundai is launching the new 2019 Elantra next week, and it has now revealed the first look of the sedan. There will be some minor changes onboard.

Last updated in 2017, Hyundai is finally bringing the new Elantra for India, which is set to be launched on 3rd October. Ahead of that, the bookings for the facelifted sedan have commenced across all dealerships.

As said earlier, the new 2019 Hyundai Elantra gets subtle yet noticeable changes on the outside. Because of revised front bumpers, sharper creases, new triangular-shaped headlamp design and the signature cascading grille, it looks sharper than the current generation model.

From the side, it looks nearly the same, but of course, gets new alloy wheels. At the back, there is a completely new design with new taillights and a skid plate as well. Summary, the facelift would not look very different from the outgoing version.

Mechanical changes onboard might include the discontinuation of the 1.6 Litre CRDi diesel engine. Reports suggest that the new 2019 Hyundai Elantra will only come with its 2.0 Litre petrol engine, which will be BS-6 compliant. The engine produces 152 BHp and 192 Nm of peak torque and a 6-speed MT, as well as a 6-speed AT, are on option.

Most likely the 1.5 Litre diesel engine from the Kia Seltos will make its way on the new Elantra. However, that might not be launched next week, but sometime later in 2020. The same engine will come on the new Hyundai Creta as well.

New features onboard will include a new touchscreen infotainment unit, Hyundai’s Blue Link technology, wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, ventilated seats, power-adjustable seats and LED headlamps.

The safety features onboard might include TPMS, rear parking sensors with a rearview camera, front parking sensors, six airbags, ABS with EBD, Vehicle Stability Control and much more.

Currently, the Hyundai Elantra is priced from Rs 13.82 Lakhs up to Rs 20.04 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The new version will demand a mild price revision, as it continues to go against the Toyota Corolla Altis, Skoda Octavia and Honda Civic.
