PSA Group Caught Testing DS 7 Crossback in India!

The DS 7 Crossback will be introduced in India after the C5 Aircross by the PSA Group and it will have a premium positioning, rivaling the entry level luxury SUVs.

The Group PSA will be making a comeback in the Indian market with the Citroen brand next year. Apart from Citroen, the PSA Group has also been caught testing the DS 7 Crossback in India. The DS 7 Crossback was spotted conducting some altitude testing earlier this year and now it has been spotted undisguised in Manesar, Haryana.

The DS 7 Crossback is expected to arrive in India after the Citroen C5 Aircross. In terms of styling, the face of the DS 7 seems inspired a lot from Audi SUVs, particularly because of the hexagonal grille and shape of the headlamps. There’s a generous amount of chrome on the face and the LED DRLs around theb fog lamps are a particularly nice touch.

In profile, the SUV looks quite sharp and sleek because of the pinched window line on both sides and a sharp character line running from the front fenders, all the way to the rear tail lamps. The DS 7 was also seen wearing dual tone alloy wheels. The SUV perhaps looks the best from the rear. The tail gate has been kept neat with very smart looking LED tail lamps and a chrome bar joining them both. The rear bumper also get some chunky cladding and dual exhaust tips. The overall design is quite familiar but still looks refreshing.

On the interiors, its a completely different story. The interior design is fresh and is nothing like we have seen before. Its all quite funky with the dashboard being dominated by a 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system and garnished with a analog clock on top. The shape of the AC vents are quite unique and it also gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Even the buttons on the center console has been very tastefully designed.

As for the features, the DS 7 comes with LED headlamps with active adjustment, semi-autonomous driving, connected car technology, a 14-speaker FOCAL sound system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, adaptive cruise control, a wireless phone charger as well as heated and powered seats. Safety features include eight airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, rear parking sensors and camera, electronic stability program, tyre pressure monitoring system as well as hill start assist. Other safety bits include blind spot detection, lane keeping assist, night vision camera as well as driver attention alert. Boy, that’s a lot!

Further, there’s a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine in two states of tune – 181PS/250Nm and 225PS/300Nm. Diesel engine options include 1.5-litre engine which puts out 130 PS and 300 Nm of torque and then there’s a 2.0-litre unit with 180 PS and 400 Nm of torque.
