The changes stick mostly to the cosmetic side and under the hood, it gets the same 1.1L petrol engine
To celebrate its one-year existence, Hyundai recently updated the Santro. It is now called as the Hyundai Santro Anniversary Edition which mostly comprises of cosmetic changes and a new colour option.
This special edition is marked to celebrate the journey of new Santro in this whole year. And so the manufacturers have introduced in the Sportz Trim which offers all the basic necessities. It is expensive by Rs 10k over the regular model and the price for the same starts at Rs 5.17 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Let us tell you all the changes that the car receives and if it is worth paying the extra Rs 10,000?
For starters, the Anniversary Edition of the Santro now uses gloss back accents on some part of th body. It not only visually attracts to the naked eye but also makes the entry level hatchback from Hyundai look sportier.

The gloss black treatment is well received on the door handles, Outside rear view mirror (ORVM) and on the roof rails. The latter is not meant for purposeful use and is only there for the cosmetic.
At the rear, the hatchback gets a chrome strip on the base of the boot and a special Anniversary edition badge. The side profile gets cladding on the door to prevent the door from any damage and the wheel cover is also finished in gunmetal grey.
You can only choose the car in just two paint schemes. The evergreen Polar White colour and Aqua Teal colours. The latter is borrowed from the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios which was launched on 20th Aug 2019.

There are no changes regarding the interiors of the Hyundai Santro and it continues with the dual tone beige and black scheme. It is equipped with manual AC with rear vents too. It gets four power windows, integrated touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as connectivity features.
Safety features on the Santro Anniversary Edition include driver side airbag, Anti lock braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD). It also gets reverse parking sensors, high speed alert system, front seat belt reminders and among others.
Mechanically, the Santro is powered by a 1.1-litre, four cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol unit which churns out 68 bhp at 5500 rpm and 99 Nm at 4500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and an AMT. The ARAI certified mileage sticks to 20.3 km/l for the Santro.
