A leaked image previews the first look of the next-gen Honda Jazz ahead of its official unveil at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show and we are impressed by the first glimpses.
There’s much anticipation going around the next-gen Honda Jazz hatchback that’s set to unveil at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show. It has been spied several times and Honda dropped a teaser a few days back. Now, you can finally lay your eyes on the all-new Honda Jazz as a new leaked image has surfaced the internet which gives you a complete look of the car.
As we were already guessing from the spy images and the teaser, the next-gen Honda Jazz gets a much more rounded look than its predecessor. The most noticeable change is the new face which is surprisingly devoid of chrome. The bonnet swoops down abruptly to make for a body-colored grille, housing the Honda badge. The bumpers down below have also been completely redesigned and feature new fog lamp housings.
The headlamps are also completely new with unique LED DRLs and it gives the Jazz a rather cute look up front. On the sides, the new model still retains some its predecessor’s basic design cues, with the mono-volume, almost MPV-like profile, and a rising window-line with a prominent kink at the start of the front door. However, the rear of the car cannot quite be seen in this image.

This leaked image seems to be bearing a base level trim as is evident from the plastic wheel covers and absence of fog lamps in the fog lamp housing. The top-spec models are expected to have some more bling. The next-gen Honda Jazz also comes with a larger wheelbase and Honda says, the new Jazz has been ‘redesigned with the passenger at its heart’ and promises to ‘raise the bar in terms of comfort and driver enjoyment’. There’s increased cabin space because of the longer wheelbase and the car has also grown in width, giving the new Jazz a strong selling point in India.

Honda also promises a sportier driving dynamics with the new car. On that front, the new Jazz will be powered by a two-motor hybrid powertrain. However, whether this setup will be available with the 1.2-litre or 1.5-litre petrol unit is still unknown. What is also unclear is whether Honda will keep a diesel engine option for the Jazz. The 1.2 litre BS6 engine for India is likely to form the mainstay of the Honda range. In this image, the Jazz can be seen wearing a number plate with the words ‘HEV’ along the name ‘Fit’ – as its called in some international markets – the ‘HEV’ being suggestive of the hybrid powertrain.
