KTM 390 Adventure Launch Scheduled To Happen In December

A new report confirms that the much-awaited KTM 390 Adventure will be launched at the India Bike Week, between December 6-7 this year.

We finally have a date. The KTM 390 Adventure is all set to be launched in India this year. It will be introduced at the India Bike Week, scheduled to happen in December first week. Finally, the much-awaited ADV is going to make its arrival.

Reports further say that the KTM 390 Adventure might be launched in India first, as in the global debut in our country. However, it will be first unveiled at the EICMA 2019, which will happen first week November.

KTM 390 Adventure

The 390 Adventure will be the first ADV from the Austrian-manufacturer for India. It will be produced at the Chakan (Pune) plant. It is likely to get its individual new assembly line, which will make bikes for Indian as well as export markets.

KTM 390 Adventure will use the same engine from the Duke 390 but with a different tuning, apt for off-roading. The 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder mill produces 42 BHP and 37 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

We expect the ADV to get a BS-6 compliant engine at the time of the launch. The tuning will be set in such a way that the low-end torque will be offered generously.

For suspension, it will come with USD forks at the front and adjustable monoshock at the back. It was spied testing recently, but with alloy wheels. In the foreign markets, it has been spied with spoke wheels, which are better for off-roading.

The spy shots also show it with luggage accessories, which will be offered as accessories from the showrooms. Chances are in India also we could get the alloy wheels along with the spoke wheels version, which will demand a certain premium.

Braking will be handled by disc brakes at both the ends with dual-channel ABS as standard. Although, for better off-roading, it could get switchable ABS as well.

We expect the prices to stay around Rs 3-3.5 Lakhs (ex-showroom). In this price range, it would not be that much expensive from the Duke 390 and RC390.

It will go against the likes of BMW G 310 GS, Royal Enfield Himalayan and Kawasaki Versys X 300. We expect it to undercut BMW and Kawasaki, but definitely more expensive than Himalayan.
