The new update makes the touchscreen responsive and faster
MG Hector is the second SUV in the Indian market to feature connected car technology after the Hyundai Venue. The i-SMART technology inside the MG Hector is what makes the SUV a leap forward than its competitors and looks like it has gotten itself a software update.
The software update of the large 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment in the MG Hector now makes it faster and much responsive. Customers complained about the lagging and unresponsiveness of the infotainment unit but now the new update resolves the problem.
The new update now also allows Apple CarPlay with latest iOS 13 and also allows you to access apps like YouTube, WhatsApp, Apple Music, Google Maps and among others on the infotainment system.

MG Hector comes with an in car based Android tablet that provides 4G connectivity. The i-SMART technology makes emergency calls, real-time navigation, vehicle status, in-built apps and also comes with preloaded apps like Gaana, Accu Weather apps etc. Furthermore, the system is just like your smartphone which will receive over the air updates for new themes, application and fixing software bugs.
In other news, MG Motors has opened the bookings for the Hector. However, the new buyers will have to shell out more in between Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000 for their specific trims. The British manufacturers have hiked the prices of the car.
Also, the MG Hector is doing really well in terms of sales unit. MG Hector sold a total of 2,608 units in Sept 2019 and with each month passing by the sales has been increasing only.
The mid-size SUV comes with features loaded up to the brim. It gets a large panoramic sunroof and 8-colour ambient lighting, tyre-pressure monitoring system, a 360-degree camera are also some of the features the car gets.

Floating turn LED indicators, front parking sensors, heated ORVM’s and a powered tailgate with height adjustable are also some of the first-in-class segment features.
The mid size SUV comes in three engine options – The 1.5-litre motor sources its power from a turbocharged petrol engine generating 142bhp with 250Nm of peak torque. The 48V mild hybrid engine is more fuel efficient than the petrol engine. The FCA sourced 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 175bhp of power with 350Nm of peak torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission for diesel and 7-speed DCT transmission for the petrol engine.
