Reports also that MG Motors is planning to invest Rs 2,000 crore in India, regarding expansion and product development. This will allow the company to expand in more cities, open up more showrooms and give a better experience to the buyers.

The manufacturer also states that the production capacity is not going to cross 3000 units a month. The sales for the past two months and our interaction with the MG dealerships also suggest that the number of inquiries is increasing every day.

Among the variants, the top-end variants of the Hector are the best-selling and are getting the most enquiries. Our dealership sources have also hinted that the petrol-AT and the diesel variant are getting an equal response from buyers.

Hector comes with two engines, a 1.5 Litre turbocharged petrol and a 2.0 Litre turbo-diesel unit. The petrol unit has also been equipped with the smart-hybrid system, which increases the mileage by 12%. The DCT gearbox comes only on the petrol variant, while the petrol-hybrid and the diesel get a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The prices of MG Hector now start off at Rs 12.48 Lakhs going up to Rs 17.28 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The prices have been increased by 30,000 for the petrol variants and Rs 40,000 for the diesel variants. Coming April 2020, the prices are set to increase again with the addition of BS-6 engines.
