The new 2020 Hyundai Creta that has been recently launched in China, has been spied testing in India for the first time under camouflage.
For the 2020 Auto Expo, Hyundai has planned new versions of its outgoing models, including the new Creta, Verna, and Elite i20. Also, all the cars in the lineup will be launched with BS-6 engines by that time.
In 2018, Hyundai gave a facelift to Creta with some new features and some mild styling upgrades. However, seeing the growing competition from debutants like Kia Seltos and MG Hector, Hyundai has decided to hit the segment harder.
Ahead of its introduction at the 2020 Auto Expo, the new 2020 Hyundai Creta has been spied testing in India for the first time. Also, do we see the new i20 as well, in the spy shot?

The spied test mule looks very similar to the China-spec Creta. The complete body panels seem to be taken from the global model, but still, there are certain changes that can be seen specific to India. Other than the design, the India-spec Creta will get similar interiors and the same platform as on the global-spec.
We can see that the new 2020 Hyundai Creta gets it gets a different front grille with refreshed inserts. Also, the design of the alloy wheels is different and we are likely to see multiple alloy wheel designs.
Another noticeable thing on the front is the newly designed LED projector headlamp set with boomerang-shaped turn indicators flanking it. Just bordering the bonnet line is the LED DRLs and between these two, seems to be an additional position lamp.

The back portion has not ben spied properly, but it will also undergo some revision including new LED taillights and redesigned bumpers. The new 2020 Hyundai Creta is expected to carry sportier looks than its outgoing version.
In terms of dimensions, the new Creta will be 30mm longer, 10mm wider and 8mm shorter. Also, it will adopt a more boxy design which makes it look even more SUV-ish.
As we all know, there will be new engines onboard the new Creta. The engines will come from Creta’s cousin, Kia Seltos which is already BS-6 compliant. Replacing the existing 1.6-litre petrol, 1.6 Litre diesel and 1.4 Litre diesel will be the new BS-6 1.5 Litre petrol and diesel engines.
Reports also suggest that the new 1.4 Litre turbo-petrol engine from the Seltos will also make its way to the Creta. We are not sure if Creta will also borrow the transmission options from Seltos. The latter comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard and a torque converter AT, a CVT and a DCT gearbox for different engines.
