New Royal Enfield Classic Series Might Be Unveiled At 2019 EICMA

Reports suggest that the new Royal Enfield Classic series might be unveiled at the 2019 EICMA, which is scheduled to happen on 6th November.

Royal Enfield is preparing to update its entire range in India, excluding the newly launched 650 Twins. The updated range will most likely debut at the 2020 Auto Expo, where we can also expect its launch. Ahead of that, we are likely to see the new model showcased at the 2019 EICMA as well.

The 2020 Royal Enfield Classic has been spied a lot of times while testing near its plant in Tamil Nadu. Every time, the cruiser is spotted, some fresh details are revealed. Moreover, Royal Enfield will now take a modern approach with the Classic series.

Here, we can spot the cruiser with some official accessories onboard. Saddle bags on both the sides, a clear windscreen, small backrest, pillion grab rail and an engine guard as well.

Most of these accessories are available with the current Royal Enfield Classic range as well. The backrest is only available on the Thunderbird as of now. Newly added alloy wheels will also make its way on the updated model.

Further, the updated Classic will get many mechanical revisions. The spied test mule gets its sprocket and chain drive on the left side now. Disc brakes on both the ends are now on the right side.

The engines will be BS-6 compliant, as expected. Reports suggest that RE might also improve the performance of its 350cc and 500cc engines, equipping it with fuel injection too. The 346cc air-cooled engine, in its current state, produces 19 BHP and 28 Nm of peak torque

Cosmetic changes seen onboard include a sculpted fuel tank, newly designed seats and new tail lamps. Most of its styling will be the same that comes on the current Classic series.

The new Royal Enfield Classic will continue with the same telescopic forks at the front and shock absorbers on either side. Front and rear disc brakes with dual-channel ABS will provide the braking power.

Expect the prices to receive a minor bump owing to all these changes and a BS-6 compliant engine. As of now, the prices start off at Rs 1.51 Lakhs (Ex-showroom).
