BS-6 Compliant Yamaha FZ-S FI And FZ FI Launched – Details

Yamaha has started its BS-6 launches with the FZ-S FI and FZ FI. Along with that, both the motorcycles are now available in new colours as well.

Yamaha has launched the BS-6 compliant FZ-S FI and FZ FI, making them one of the earliest BS-6 motorcycles in India. The BS-6 Yamaha FZ FI goes for Rs 99,200 and the FZ-S FI is priced starting at Rs 1.01 Lakhs (ex-showroom prices Delhi).

Both the motorcycles continue with the same 149cc air-cooled fuel-injected engine, that now produces 12.4 BHP at 7250 RPM and 13.6 Nm of peak torque at 5500 RPM. The power is done from 13.2 BHP but the torque is higher from 12.8 Nm on the BS-4 version.

Along with the new engines, Yamaha has also offered new colours on the FZ-S. The bike now comes with Metallic Red and Darknight along with the existing Dark Matte Blue, Matte Black and Cyan Blue colours. The Darknight colour option demands Rs 1500 more than other colours, costing Rs 1,02,700.

Other than that, both the motorcycles receive no update. On the FZ-S and FZ, telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the back handle the suspension. Braking is taken care of by disc brakes at both the ends with a single-channel ABS as standard.

BS-6 Yamaha FZ-S and FZ V3 continue with features like negative-LCD speedometer, LED headlight, Singe Step-up Seat, One-piece grab rail, fuel injection system and single-channel ABS setup.

Yamaha has also confirmed that it will be soon launching other BS-6 models as well. We expect the R15 V3 and MT-15 to be next in line, as their engine specifications have already been leaked. Both the motorcycles will see a slight dip in the power figures.

Next month, Yamaha is also likely to launch the all-new YZF R3. The 300cc parallel-twin sportsbike has received a major update in the global markets and we are going to get the latest version in India.

Another 300cc motorcycle expected from Yamaha is the MT-03 which might come to India next year. It will use the same engine that comes on the new globally-available YZF R3. The styling, you all know, will be very similar to the MT-15 but more aggressive.
