It is the mid-spec S trim of the Hyundai Venue with the 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine and DCT gearbox that has the maximum waiting period of up to 15 weeks.
The Venue was an absolute hit for Hyundai right from the start. Since its launch, the sub-compact SUV has seen very strong demand and it has even gone up the sales charts, giving the Vitara Brezza a run for its money. Of course with high demand, the waiting period for the Hyundai Venue has been gradually on the rise and now extends upto 15 weeks depending on the engine-gearbox combination and trim level in question.
It is the 1.0 liter turbo-petrol engine option that is seeing the highest demand and naturally has the highest waiting period, particularly so in its mid-spec S trim level. The Venue essentially comes with three engine options – there’s a 1.2 Liter, naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine and a 1.4 liter diesel engine. Also, it is only the mid-spec S trim that offers all the three engines. The 1.0 liter turbo petrol engine can either be had with a 5-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
It is the Venue S 1.0L DCT which has the highest waiting period – up to 15 weeks – and the Venue S 1.0L with the manual gearbox has a waiting period of up to 8 weeks. As for the diesel, here again it is the mid-spec S trim which has the highest waiting period of six weeks. Interestingly, the base 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine-equipped Venue E also has a waiting period of six weeks.

Conversely, the higher spec SX trim and the top-spec SX(O) trim have a waiting period of only about two weeks and that is irrespective of the engine-gearbox combination. The SX(+) trim level which is only available with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with the DCT gearbox has a waiting period of three weeks.

Hyundai launched the Venue in May this year and it was the first sub-compact SUV from the brand and also the first car to feature the BlueLink Connected Technology. Prices for the Venue start from Rs 6.50 lakh for the base petrol to Rs 11.11 lakh for the top-spec diesel (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). The Venue rivals the likes of the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Ford EcoSport and the Maruti Vitara Brezza.
