The new 2020 Hyundai i20 has been spied with a fully digital speedometer, the one that we have seen in the recently launched new Hyundai ix25 (Creta).
For the 2020 Auto Expo, Hyundai has to show a lot of new cars. The list includes the all-new Hyundai i20, Creta, Verna and Xcent Nios, all set to be launched in 2020. While the new Creta and Verna have been revealed in the global markets, the other two are still spied testing.
Going by the latest spy shots, Hyundai is going to make the new i20 even upmarket with a fully digital instrument console. One dial on the left is for the speed and the other one is for RPM. The console seems to be inspired by the new Creta which has been recently launched in China.

Apart from the digital instrument cluster, Hyundai i20 will also get the BlueLink connected car technology which came with the Venue and the recently launched Elantra. We expect most of the premium Hyundai cars to get Blue Link soon.
The next-gen i20 will also receive a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as connectivity features. Automatic climate control, Wireless charging, multiple airbags, start/stop button and several other features which its competition lacks.
Also, like we said above, the engine options might be new too. The 1.4-litre turbocharged diesel engine which produces 90 bhp will be replaced by a 1.5L motor. This new engine is borrowed from the Kia Seltos which produces 115 bhp and will come in the Creta as well as the Verna.

However, the power figures will be detuned to keep the costs in check and to increase the fuel efficiency. The hatchback will compete with Maruti Baleno, Volkswagen Polo, Honda Jazz. While the diesel engine on the Jazz will continue post BS6 emission norms but Maruti and Volkswagen are thinking to discontinue the Baleno and Polo diesel engines.
Also, there might be a possibility of a new turbocharged petrol engine for the Hyundai i20. The engine 1.0-litre petrol motor will be borrowed from the Hyundai Venue and the motor produces 120 bhp which gets mated with a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
With the new features and the BS6 engines, the prices of the Hyundai i20 will surely be increased by a good margin. We expect the petrol trims to get costlier by Rs 20000-30000, depending on the variant. We are not sure if how much the more the BS6 diesel will cost. The current ongoing Hyundai i20 sells off at Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 9.31 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
