Fresh updates reveal that the waiting period of Jawa and Forty-Two is down to 3 months, but still up to 8 months in Southern cities.
Finally, good news for all the Jawa buyers. The manufacturers have increased the production capacity at its Pithampur plant and the waiting period is now down to atleast 3 months in most of the cities.
Jawa received an overwhelming response for both its motorcycles, so much so that even they themselves couldn’t perceive. Very soon, the Jawa motorcycles started seeing the unreasonable amount of waiting period as they were all immediately sold out.
Jawa launched in India with the standard Jawa and the Forty Two, both of which are seeing a waiting period of anything between 6-10 months in major cities. The company has been struggling with production and in keeping up with demand and that has turned off several customers. Some even took their bookings back instead of waiting for so long.

Seeing the situation and ease their anxious customers, Jawa launched a delivery simulator tool which could give a rough time frame within which a customer could expect the delivery of their motorcycle.
The simulator tool suggests that the waiting period in some cities could stretch up to nine months and the customers found themselves pulling their hair all the more. Here’s a detailed look at the waiting period of the single-channel ABS and dual-ABS variants for both the models in several major cities :
City | Single-ABS | Dual-ABS |
Mumbai | 3-5 months | 4-5 months |
Delhi | 8-10 weeks | 2-3 months |
Hyderabad | 4-8 months | 4-8 months |
Bangalore | 5-8 months | 5-8 months |
Chennai | 5-6 months | 4-5 months |
Pune | 2-3 months | 3-4 months |
The Jawa and Forty-Two use a 293cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine. The motor is capable of producing 28.3 BHP and 28 Nm of peak torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. You have the option of a single disc/single-ABS as well as dual disc/dual-ABS.
The deliveries have now picked up a smooth pace. Reports suggest that the production capacity has been doubled up. Now that Jawa has also launched the Perak, after some time, it might also see a high waiting period.
