Ather is going to discontinue the 450 electric scooter after its current batch. The new 450X will replace it as their only model on sale.
Ather 450 is the most popular electric scooter in India currently. Despite being only available in Bengaluru and Chennai, it has a fan following across the country. At the launch of 450X, Ather confirmed that they will soon expand their operations to other cities.
Now, post the launch of 450X, Ather has decided to discontinue the 450. The current under-production batch will be the last set sold. However, they will still receive the upgrades and support from the manufacturer.
Existing Ather 450 owners who have booked the scooter are given the option to go for 450X. The latter is more premium, advanced and quicker than the 450. Although, the styling remains exactly the same.

Ather 450X gets a 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that produces 6 kW and 26 Nm of peak torque. In comparison, the 450 gets a 2.4 kWh pack that produces 5.4 kW and 20.5 Nm of peak torque. However, the top speed for both remains at 80 km/hr.
450X gets a new Warp riding mode, which is placed above the Sport mode. The riding range of it also 10 kms more than Ather 450, at 85 kms on the ECO mode. It also charges 50% faster than the 450, at the rate of 1.5 kms/min.
New features onboard include a new touchscreen cluster with Android source, integrated 4G E-Sim Card, Bluetooth connectivity, Music Play and Call options and more. The 450X is available in two variants – Plus and Pro – the former getting the same specifications and battery pack as that of the Ather 450.

The 450X comes at a price of Rs 99,000 after which, you can pay rest of the amount in EMIs. For Plus, you can pay Rs 1,699 and for Pro, you can pay Rs 1,999 per month. For buying them upfront, the 450X Plus comes at Rs 1.45 Lakhs and Pro at Rs 1.54 Lakhs (on-road Delhi).
