Harley Davidson is going to launch its most affordable 338cc motorcycle in India this June. It will also come to the Indian market later.
A leaked photo has now revealed that Harley Davidson, in partnership with Benelli, will launch its most affordable motorcycle by June 2020. It has already entered production for the Chinese market and will also hit the Indian market.
It has tied up with Zhejiang Qianjiang Motorcycle, a Chinese two-wheeler manufacturer. The parent brand is the Geely Group, which also owns Volvo and Benelli Motorcycles. This particular motorcycle is just made for the Asian markets.
Reports say that the new Harley Davidson motorcycle will be based on the Benelli TNT 300 naked motorcycle. It will share the same chassis and other components and both of them will further get a completely new engine.

Harley Davidson has also confirmed about a 338cc engine under development. The TNT 300, as of now, gets a smaller engine 302cc parallel-twin engine. Both of them will get a new engine parallel-twin engine. The suspension, brakes and some other parts will be taken directly from the TNT 300.
Talking about its India launch, HD has confirmed the news but has not revealed a confirmed period. We expect the motorcycle to make its India debut sometime by the end of 2021, as the Chinese market is going to get it by June.
Reportedly, Hero Motocorp and Harley Davidson are also in talks of developing a model for the Indian market. We can expect Harley to localize the China-spec motorcycle and locally source some parts from Hero. Although, designing and engineering will come from HD itself.

There are chances that this motorcycle might be manufactured at their Haryana plant and then exported to the Chinese market. Since they want to take on the entry-level motorcycle segment in India, the bike has to be priced very competitively.
In the global markets, HD has Street 500 as its entry-level model. Once Harley Davidson was the most popular premium motorcycle brand in India, which it is not now. To take the title back and to rival the biggies Royal Enfield, HD is bringing its most affordable model.
